Our “post script alert” in a previous wine industry review reported the Federal Government’s consideration of the Australian National Preventive Health Agency (ANPHA) recommendation for minimum alcohol pricing. This reported industry leader claims such legislation would increase the price of wine produced in Australia by 71% – quadrupling it in some instances – while an inevitable decrease in the volume of wine sold would reduce demand for wine grapes.
